Our goal is to have representation from as many colleges and universities across the state as possible.

  • Member Nominations must be submitted online by November 1.
  • Directors must complete a separate form for each student nominated. 
    • The Nomination Form is linked below.
    • Note:  The comment section is a meaningful way for you to advocate for your students and help support their acceptance.

NOMINATION GUIDELINES

  1. Strings will be selected by nomination only.
  2. Institutions that offer a Bachelor’s Degree or higher may submit eight string nominees.
  3. Institutions that offer an Associate’s Degree or a Music Minor may submit four string nominees.
  4. Rank each student on a scale of 1-8 with “1” being your most deserving student, regardless of instrumentation.
  5. Complete all areas of the nomination form.

CHAIR PLACEMENT AUDITION INFORMATION (AFTER ACCEPTANCE)

  1. Auditions must be recorded using a smartphone or tablet.
  2. Auditions will be submitted online by November 30.
  3. Audition excerpts will be compiled from 2026 All-Collegiate Orcestra repertoire.
  4. Applied faculty from Missouri colleges and universities will serve as evaluators.
    1. Auditionees will be scored, ranked, and scores averaged by a committee of applied faculty members from our state institutions.
  5. Section part placement and principal players will be announced on December 12, 2025.

  1. Please record audio only on a mobile devise.
  2. All applications will be submitted through the MMEA Website.
  3. Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion applicants will submit a recording of the designated excerpts via an unlisted Youtube link. 
  4. Audio recordings only (no video).
  5. Do not speak at any time during the recording or indicate who you are in any way.
  6. Recordings should reflect an unedited performance of each excerpt. DO NOT edit/splice different performances of an excerpt together. This will result in the disqualification of your audition.
  7. Applicants will upload audition recordings to a cloud or YouTube.  (Audition submissions will include the audition link only.)
    *Please be sure this is an active, working link. Your audition will not be adjudicated if the link is broken.Your recording should be an unedited performance of each individual excerpt. DO NOT edit/splice different performances of an excerpt together. This will result in the disqualification of your audition. You DO NOT have to perform all excerpts together in one continuous session. You may record each individually and submit one link.
