 General Information

MMEA Advisory Council Members are appointed by the MMEA President and serve two-year terms.  

*MMEA Advisory Council Members serve as non-voting members on the MMEA Board of Directors.

The MMEA Music In Our Schools Month Chair is responsible for the following duties, each year during their two-year term:

     

      Position Responsibilities:

  • Attend MMEA Board of Director Meetings (April, August).
  • Submit four articles for the Missouri School Music Magazine (February, April, August, November).
  • The MMEA MIOSM Chair will inform, promote and encourage membership in all matters pertaining to Music in Our Schools Month.
  • Work with local, district, and state educators to develop initiatives to celebrate MIOSM.
  • Report at Board of Director meetings projects and initiatives.
  • Secure and coordinate one (1) clinic session for the Annual MMEA In-Service Workshop/Conference.
  • Preside over the MIOSM Clinic at the Annual MMEA In-Service Workshop/Conference.
