General eligibility Information

  • All participants must be undergraduate students in good standing and enrolled at your institution for the spring 2025 semester.
  • Participants must be a member of a university concert band (if the offering exists).
  • All participants must attend an institution that awards at least an associate’s degree or music minor.
  • It is highly recommended that all participating students be currently enrolled in the applied music studios of your college or university (if the offering exists).
  • Participants must be in attendance at the 2025 MMEA Annual In-Service Workshop/Conference beginning the evening of Monday, January 27 through the performance on the evening of Wednesday, January 29, 2024.
  • Cost is $160 per student.

nomination Information

  • An online nomination must be submitted by the ensemble director for each nominee.
  • Directors teaching at institutions with an associate’s degree or music minor may submit 4 names, those with a bachelor’s degree may submit 8.
  • Nominees will be ranked, with 1 being the most deserving, regardless of instrumentation.

Audition information (after nomination acceptance)

  • Auditions must be recorded using a smartphone or tablet.
  • Auditions will be submitted online by November 20.
  • Audition excerpts will be compiled from 2025 All-Collegiate Band repertoire.
  • Applied faculty from Missouri colleges and universities will serve as evaluators. Auditionees will be scored, ranked, and scores averaged by a committee of at least two applied faculty members from our state institutions.
  • Section part placement and principal players will be announced on December 5, 2024.
