“Defining and Understanding Marching Band Caption Sheets and Judging Practices”

Presenter:  Chris Church

This clinic will dive right into defining the captions judged at marching band festivals and how judges approach their judging and critique. This clinic will also explain the written verbiage utilized on the front and back of the sheet as it pertains to the various “boxes” where the rating and ranking takes place. Understanding the “what” and “how” of the various captions is paramount to the modern day marching band director.

“Sing and Play from Seniors to K”

Presenters: Bethany Main, Jazz Rucker

This session is designed to show how alignment from K-12th grade is not only possible, but highly needed. As we build musicians we need to be mindful that our focus should be on the humans we are educating. The need for play doesn’t end after 5th grade. The need for quality doesn’t start at high school. Sing and play along with us as we highlight the processes of an aligned K-12 system.
